Our Flutes
The Native American-inspired flutes I make now are a development of this ancient and magical instrument, and each one is lovingly hand-crafted to provide you with an instrument that sings with a voice as beautiful as the wild wood it is made from.
The variety of woods I use are all those that I know through experience will perform well and produce a sweet tone. While I prefer to use English woods, I also occasionally use imported timber from trusted and certified sources. Where I can, I hand-gather native woods or recycle timber furniture.
My favourite English woods to work with include Oak, Rowan, Willow, Hawthorne, Elm, Alder, Birch and Hazel. All of them produce a beautiful tone and come with their own unique characters – as do Ebony, Rosewood and Mahogany, although these are hard to come by. Any flutes I make using these will be from recycled or vintage wood stock.
I always have a large selection of flutes in stock, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch to see what’s available.
